Manish was introduced to Indian classical music by his parents. After a few years of learning basics of classical vocal , he started his initial training in Indian slide guitar from Late Shri Vishnu Waliwadekar. Manish is one of the senior disciples of USTAD SHAHID PARVEZ, the famous sitar maestro of Itawa gharana.
Driven by an unyielding passion to craft music of unparalleled depth and resonant beauty, Manish embarked on a journey of experimentation, exploring the delicate nuances of string arrangements and the subtle art of playing techniques. With the wisdom of great masters like Pt. Brijbhushan Kabra, Pt. Vishwa Mohan Bhatt, and the guiding light of his Gurus, Manish forged a distinctive style of right-hand picking, harmoniously fused with the dynamic power of left-hand slides. His profound mastery in the evolution of a Raga, and the intricate rhythms of Taal, is a testament to the years of devoted study under the esteemed sitar maestro, Ustad Shahid Parvez, whose influence has shaped his exceptional command over the instrument.
Manish was awarded the Title ‘SURMANI’ by Sur Sringar Samsad, Mumbai. He is a recipient of The Music Excellence award 2019, from Camroon creations Goa. He also has received an exclusive honor from the WORLD BOOK OF RECORDS, LONDON. Manish was honored with the LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD by South Indian Cultural association, Indore.
Manish has won many accolades performing pure Indian classical Solos, Duets and Fusion concerts, collaborating with fellow musicians from India and also international musicians like Blues Musician Michael Messer, Saxophone maestro George Brooks and African Kora player Lamine Cissokho. Manish has recorded music albums with International maestros like Hector Zazou (IN THE HOUSE OF MIRRORS), Michael Messer (CALL OF THE BLUES), Lamine Cissokho (NEW CONTINENTS)
Besides performing in many prestigious music festivals in India, Manish has also performed in various countries like Spain, England, Republic of Ireland, Germany, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Belgium, Switzerland, Netherlands, Luxembourg, Australia, Portugal, Sweden, Estonia, Denmark, Norway, France, Italy, China, etc.
Manish is a highly qualified sound engineer from the prestigious film school of India, FTII, Pune. With his knowledge of sound and music, Manish is frequently invited to film schools to conduct workshops. Manish has also worked on various feature films (Life of Pi, Eat pray love) and documentary projects as a sound engineer.
